Analysis: European Developments Towards a Clean Hydrogen Economy

Experts are calling for continued policy improvements to help Europe stay at the forefront of global clean hydrogen production. Measures introduced in the ‘Fit for 55’ July update to the European Commission’s Renewable Energy Directive were welcomed by industry although doubts remain over whether the package will allow Europe to achieve a short-term goal of 6 GW of low carbon hydrogen capacity by 2024.
