The importance of the electrolyzer market in scaling green hydrogen
Water electrolysis, the process by which electricity is used to make hydrogen, is a key technology for enabling net-zero carbon emissions energy systems. For some hard-to-abate industries there may be no way to reach net zero without using hydrogen. To control the rise of greenhouse gas emissions, private leaders and governments are focusing heavily on hydrogen production.

Using renewably powered electrolysis to make green hydrogen is currently one of the most expensive ways to produce the gas but is also seen as having the greatest long-term potential because of the extent to which it can reduce emissions.
